Budget roughly 7–8% on top of the price for a mortgaged purchase through an agent.

## Fees and VAT

The DLD fee and title deed fees are government charges and carry no VAT. Agent and trustee fees are services and carry 5% VAT. A new residential unit bought from a developer is zero-rated for VAT; see the [VAT on property calculator](https://www.countify.ae/tools/vat-on-property-calculator). Fees are set by the DLD and can change, so the calculator lets you edit them.
