# UAE tax invoice requirements checker

> A full UAE tax invoice must show the words "Tax Invoice", the supplier's and (if registered) the customer's name, address and TRN, a sequential number, the date, item descriptions, quantities and prices, the VAT rate and amount in AED, and the total. A simplified invoice is allowed when the customer is not registered or the value is AED 10,000 or less.

## Which invoice you need

All fields present.

| Invoice | Invoice type required |
| --- | --- |
| AED 5,000 to a consumer | Simplified tax invoice allowed |
| AED 5,000 to a registered business | Full tax invoice |
| AED 15,000 to a consumer | Full tax invoice |

Under e-invoicing (from 2027 for most businesses) invoices will also have to be issued in a structured electronic format through an accredited provider.

## Full vs simplified tax invoices

Businesses supplying VAT-registered customers must issue a full tax invoice. For supplies to unregistered customers, or where the value is AED 10,000 or less, a simplified tax invoice is enough. Tax invoices must be issued within 14 days of the date of supply, and amounts in foreign currency need the VAT also shown in AED with the exchange rate used.

## Getting ready for e-invoicing

From 2027 most UAE businesses will issue invoices through an accredited e-invoicing provider in a structured format.
