Contact usYes. Every UAE-incorporated company, including free zone companies, must register for corporate tax with the FTA and file an annual return, even if no tax is due. Individuals must register once their business turnover exceeds AED 1 million in a calendar year. Missing the registration deadline carries an AED 10,000 penalty. Countify handles the full registration and filing process.
The standard rate is 9% on taxable income above AED 375,000. Income below this threshold is taxed at 0%. Small Business Relief may apply for businesses with revenue under AED 3 million. Free Zone entities may qualify for 0% on qualifying income.
Yes. For tax periods starting on or after 1 January 2026, the UAE offers a tiered R&D tax credit of 15%, 35% or 50% of qualifying R&D expenditure (capped at AED 5 million of spend), under Cabinet Decision No. 215 of 2025. Projects need Emirates Research & Development Council pre-approval. Countify is one of the very few UAE accountancy firms offering compliant end-to-end R&D advisory, led by a team with over 7 years of specialist R&D experience.
A freezone company can typically be set up within 3 to 7 working days with the right documents in place. Mainland setup takes slightly longer. Countify manages the full process.

UAE Small Business Relief allows businesses with annual revenue under AED 3 million to be treated as having zero taxable income for Corporate Tax purposes. To qualify, a business must elect for relief and meet FTA conditions. The relief is available for tax periods from 1 June 2023 to 31 December 2026. Countify can assess your eligibility and handle the election filing.
A Freezone company operates within a designated economic zone and can benefit from 0% corporate tax on qualifying income, 100% foreign ownership, and simplified customs processes. However, it cannot trade directly with the UAE mainland without a local distributor. A Mainland company allows unrestricted UAE market access but has different licensing and compliance requirements. Countify advises on the best structure for your business goals.
