Accounting and tax services in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi's business base is weighted towards larger groups, government suppliers and fast-growing technology and energy companies. That brings extra finance requirements: tender-ready financial statements, related-party documentation for group companies and, for many, audited accounts because revenue passes AED 50 million or because the company wants the Qualifying Free Zone Person rate.

Companies in ADGM work under a separate common-law framework and file annual accounts with the ADGM Registration Authority, in addition to their UAE corporate tax and VAT obligations with the FTA. We keep both calendars aligned so an ADGM filing and an FTA filing never compete for the same week.

What we do for Abu Dhabi clients

  • IFRS financial statements for tenders and banks
  • Corporate tax returns for groups and tax groups
  • Transfer pricing documentation and related-party schedules
  • R&D tax credit claims for Hub71 and Masdar City innovators
  • VAT returns and FTA registration

Abu Dhabi free zones we support

  • KEZAD
  • Masdar City Free Zone
  • twofour54
  • Abu Dhabi Airport Free Zone
  • Hub71 (ADGM)

Mainland companies are licensed by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED); ADGM companies are registered with the ADGM Registration Authority. All are taxed by the Federal Tax Authority.

Accounting in Abu Dhabi: common questions

Do you work with ADGM companies?

Yes. We maintain the accounting records ADGM companies must keep, prepare the annual accounts filed with the ADGM Registration Authority and handle the separate corporate tax and VAT filings with the FTA.

Do you need to be based in Abu Dhabi to serve Abu Dhabi clients?

No. Bookkeeping, VAT and corporate tax work is done on cloud accounting software and filed on EmaraTax, so location does not matter. We visit Abu Dhabi clients for onboarding, year-end and audit meetings.

Is my Abu Dhabi company eligible for the UAE R&D tax credit?

Possibly. From tax periods starting on or after 1 January 2026, qualifying R&D carried out in the UAE can earn a credit of 15%, 35% or 50%, subject to Emirates R&D Council pre-approval and minimum spend and headcount thresholds.
