What is Reverse charge?
The reverse charge is a VAT mechanism where the buyer, not the supplier, accounts for the VAT: it declares 5% output VAT and recovers it as input VAT in the same return.
It applies to services and goods imported by registered businesses, and to some domestic supplies such as gold, diamonds, certain electronics and hydrocarbons between registered businesses.
