VAT return deadlines
Most businesses file VAT quarterly, though the FTA puts some on monthly periods. Your tax periods are shown on your VAT registration certificate in EmaraTax and are often staggered, so a quarter may end in February, May, August and November rather than in calendar quarters. The return and payment are due by the 28th day after the period ends. Read more in our VAT return deadlines guide.
Corporate tax deadlines
The corporate tax return and any tax due must be filed and paid within 9 months of the end of the tax period, which is normally your financial year. A company incorporated on or after 1 March 2024 must register within 3 months of incorporation, and late registration carries an AED 10,000 penalty. See our corporate tax registration deadline guide.
E-invoicing deadlines
Businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more must appoint an accredited service provider by 30 October 2026 and go live on 1 January 2027. Others appoint one by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 July 2027. Our e-invoicing guide covers the steps.
What the checker leaves out
- Companies incorporated before 1 March 2024 and foreign companies, whose registration deadlines were set differently.
- Natural persons, who register by 31 March of the year after their business turnover first exceeds AED 1 million.
- Excise tax and other filings.
